Sister Cities of Houston (SCH) hosted a meeting with members of the Consular Corps with Sister Cities relationships. Consul Generals, Vice-Consuls, Deputy Consul Generals, Chancellors and Directors Generals, to announce that the city of Houston has been selected to host the Sister Cities International (SCI) Conference from July 17-19, 2019, and invite these countries to join hands with SCH to help bring together a successful SCI Annual Conference “Cities Mean Business:”

November 17, 2018 – Sister Cities International Annual Conference 2019 – Kick-Off Reception and Fall Concert
Each year, the founding organization, Sister Cities International, selects a new host city for the prestigious Annual Conference, which highlights Sister Cities’ mission. Houston has been selected to host the 2019 Sister Cities International Annual Conference. In preparation for this opportunity, join us as a sponsor and attendee on November 17, 2018 at Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston (MATCH). Our celebration will include Sister Cities of Houston’s Fall Concert and SCI Annual Conference VIP Kick-off Reception, where we will celebrate how arts and culture has empowered us to communicate across communities. Sponsors of this event can receive access to and recognition during next year’s Annual Conference.

Dr. Helga Aurisch will take us on one of her inimitable tours of Tudors to Windsors: British Royal Portraits from Holbein to Warhol https://www.mfah.org/exhibitions/tudors-to-windsors-british-royal-portraits-holbein-warhol. If you’ve never heard an introduction by Dr. Aurisch to an exhibit, you will be absolutely amazed; if you have joined us before, you will eagerly await this event.
We will meet between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. in the lobby of the Audrey Jones Beck Building. The museum closes at 5:30 p.m. Please do not be late, as there will be no one to let you in later. The tour will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will last about one hour. We will meet afterwards in the spacious lounge and bar of the Hotel ZaZa for a nightcap.
