SCI Conference – Consular Corps Meeting Summary

Sister Cities of Houston (SCH) hosted a meeting with members of the Consular Corps with Sister Cities relationships. Consul Generals, Vice-Consuls, Deputy Consul Generals, Chancellors and Directors Generals, to announce that the city of Houston has been selected to host the Sister Cities International (SCI) Conference from July 17-19, 2019, and invite these countries to join hands with SCH to help bring together a successful SCI Annual Conference “Cities Mean Business:”

    Come to the Chmielewski Blueberry Farm in Hockley on June 2, starting at 8:00 a.m.; event organized by the Swiss American Society of Houston.

    No need to RSVP, just join us!

    At the entrance of the farm you will get a bucket then you go and pick your own blueberries! Wear old shoes, bring hat, lotion and plenty of water to drink and money to pay for your blueberries!

    We will have a re-hydrated picnic after picking the blueberries. Bring your own drinks and watermelon!.

    Come join the Houston-Taipei Society as they host Dr. Anne Chao to discuss the Taiwanese immigrant experience in Texas. Dr. Chao is the Curator of Rice University’s award-winning Asian Immigrant Archives. She will discuss the legal, social, and economic challenges facing early Taiwanese immigrants and will feature families of Houston Taipei society members.
