Sister Cities of Houston (SCH) hosted a meeting with members of the Consular Corps with Sister Cities relationships. Consul Generals, Vice-Consuls, Deputy Consul Generals, Chancellors and Directors Generals, to announce that the city of Houston has been selected to host the Sister Cities International (SCI) Conference from July 17-19, 2019, and invite these countries to join hands with SCH to help bring together a successful SCI Annual Conference “Cities Mean Business:”

The Houston-Karachi Sister City Association (HKSCA) in collaboration with the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston is hosting Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, current Ambassador of Pakistan to the U.S. Complementary invitation is available to the president or a representative of each one of the 18 Sister Cities of Houston.

Patricia Gilmore-Maass, Chair Person, and her Celebration Dinner Committee have been hard at work to bring you an exciting and delicious evening.

We will start with an al fresco reception (if the weather allows) at 6:15 p.m., so everyone can mingle and greet friends, and around 7:00 p.m. will go into the restaurant for the seated dinner. Our keynote speaker is Prof. Peter “Carl” Carldwell from Rice University, who will give us a brief update on Germany as a European power thirty years after the Peaceful Revolution. If you recall his talk at one of our meetings a few years back, you’ll remember him as an interesting and lively speaker!
Our enthusiastic MC Stephen Braun will charm us as always, and Sonja Bruzauskas will amuse with some light musical entertainment.
