In Memory of Mariam Issa
INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAYHI RAJI’UN, Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Allah we shall return.”
Mariam Issa, was a great community leader, dedicated volunteer, philanthropist, a devoted wife, mother, a grandmother, mentor and an inspiration to many, She passed away with “Dementia” this morning after struggling for last few years.
It was an honor for many to work under her leadership along with myself at many occasions.
She is the founder of Pakistani American Volunteer Association ( PAVA ) now continued the legacy of her vision and volunteerism currently registered as Pakistani American Volunteers.
Her philanthropic work began quietly long ago when she was young and in Pakistan and later moved to UAE and came to USA . She has been on numerous non-profit boards and many reputable community organizations.
Ms. Mariam Issa also served in the Mayoral Advisory Board for International Affairs, Her humanitarian efforts also helped creating a bridge in between the U.S. and Pakistan. She was very actively involved in local and state politics.
May the Almighty bless her soul and give her place in Jannat al firdous ( Amen ) . She will be truly missed 😥 – Please dua for her and family.
